Echo

A walk in the city, a sudden song playing, and then the memories come rushing in.

For me, that place was Chancery Square. I was listening to “Brazil” by Declan McKenna and the thought of my younger self and siblings appeared - all in the backyard building tents with every sheet we could find. I remember our mother yelling at us for making her clean sheets dirty, but then asking us if we had fun whilst smiling.

And so that's where this project began. An opportunity to relive memories.

More specifically a multi tv space in the Auckland Art Gallery, that will show case visitors sent in clips via a QR code. These images and clips will be displayed at the half way point of the song “Brazil” by Declan McKenna. And at the half way point (2 minutes in) will also be where tactile elements are introduced and the enhancement, and reminiscing is made.
